Draft Beer Line Cleaning and Draft System Service in Bucktown

Bucktown occupies the southeast corner of the Logan Square community area, east of Western Avenue and south of Fullerton Avenue, with the 606 trail along its southern edge and Wicker Park just across it. Some definitions stretch Bucktown a few blocks farther south, into West Town. The area was once called Holstein, after the German factory workers who settled it, and Holstein Park remains at the heart of the neighborhood.

Damen Avenue is the main commercial street, with boutiques, cafes and restaurants, and Western Avenue on the west side has restaurants of its own. Corner bars, cafes, a corner wine bar and a small cabaret that stages live music and experimental theater round out the neighborhood's evenings.

Not every account here is a large system. A restaurant might pour from a handful of taps over an under-bar cooler, and a corner bar might run short lines from a walk-in behind the back wall. Small setups still need the whole routine: lines, faucets and couplers cleaned on the state's schedule, gas pressure and temperature checked, and worn parts replaced. When a Bucktown business wants more taps, we can plan and install the expansion too.

Common questions

How do we know no cleaning solution is left in the lines?

After the cleaning solution comes out, each line is flushed with clean water until none remains, and a pH check of the rinse water can confirm it before beer goes back in. The person who did the work then dates and signs your cleaning record, which Illinois requires you to keep. Our summary of the Illinois rule.

Our draft looks fine at the faucet but loses its head fast in the glass. Is that the lines?

Often it is the glass. Residue from grease, detergent or sanitizer on a glass that is not fully clean knocks down the head and leaves bubbles clinging to the sides. It is worth ruling out glassware before looking at the system, and we can point out anything we notice while we are on site.
