Draft Beer Line Cleaning and Draft System Service in Wheeling
Wheeling lies in Chicago's northern suburbs along the Des Plaines River, bordered by Buffalo Grove, Prospect Heights, Arlington Heights and Northbrook. It is best known as the home of Restaurant Row, the stretch of Milwaukee Avenue on the river's west bank, which took off in the early 1970s when a French restaurant there began drawing diners willing to wait months for a table and others opened nearby.
The Row still mixes hot dog drive-ins, seafood houses, Italian restaurants and fine dining, and the village has its share of bars and taverns as well. A second center has formed on Dundee Road at the Wheeling Town Center, a mixed-use development of apartments, restaurants and other businesses next to the Metra station on the North Central Service line. Wheeling also co-owns Chicago Executive Airport with neighboring Prospect Heights.
A restaurant pouring a handful of drafts next to a long wine list has different needs from a tavern built around its taps. We set the schedule and the work to fit each one: routine line cleaning, pressure and gas adjustments, faucet and coupler repairs, and new systems or added lines for kitchens that want more beer on the menu.

Common questions
We only pour a few drafts, and some kegs take weeks to empty. Do those lines still need cleaning on the same schedule?
Yes. Illinois sets the cleaning interval by time, not by how much beer goes through a line, and a slow line can be where off flavors show up first, since the beer sits longer against whatever is building up inside. A slow seller is also worth watching for freshness once the keg is tapped; a smaller keg size can help it move before it fades. What the Illinois rule requires.
Our back bar has never had draft. Can you add a few taps?
Usually. It depends on where kegs can be kept cold, how far that spot is from the bar, and how lines can be routed between them. A few taps fed from a keg cooler under the bar is the simplest setup; a walk-in farther away may call for a long-draw system. We can look at the space and lay out the options.
