Draft Beer Line Cleaning and Draft System Service in Palatine
Palatine sits in northwestern Cook County, about 30 miles from Chicago's Loop and 14 miles from O'Hare, with Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg, Inverness, Deer Park and Long Grove around it. Metra's Union Pacific Northwest trains stop at the downtown station on Wood Street, and the village itself was laid out around the rail stop in 1855.
Downtown still centers on the tracks. Restaurants and pubs fill the blocks around the station, and the corner of Brockway and Slade Streets, beside the Firefighters Memorial, is where Street Fest is held each summer, with live music, local food and drinks. Outside the downtown grid, Northwest Highway (U.S. 14) skirts the district past a series of shopping centers, and the area where Rand Road meets Dundee Road has become a shopping destination anchored by big-box stores.
Palatine's draft systems run from a few taps at a downtown pub to larger setups at restaurants along the main roads, and we handle both the same way: line cleaning on a regular schedule, faucet and coupler rebuilds when parts wear, temperature and foam troubleshooting, and new installations for restaurants coming into the village.

Common questions
We pour from a jockey box or portable bar at festivals and outdoor events. Does it need cleaning?
Yes, after each event and again before the next one. Jockey boxes and portable bars have lines and coils that hold beer just like a permanent system, and they often sit in storage for weeks between uses. Cleaning right after an event keeps beer from drying inside, and cleaning before the next one clears anything that grew while the unit was stored.
The first beer of the day pours mostly foam, and the rest pour fine. What causes that?
Usually the beer that sat in the tower and faucet overnight has warmed up. On a direct-draw system the tower is cooled by air from the cooler, so a blocked air path or weak tower insulation can leave that first pour warm and foamy. On a long-draw system it can mean the glycol is not reaching all the way to the tower. Both can be checked and corrected, and since every foamy first pour goes down the drain, it is worth doing. Repair and troubleshooting.
