Draft Beer Line Cleaning and Draft System Service in North Chicago

North Chicago sits on the Lake Michigan shore between Waukegan to the north and Lake Bluff to the south, with Green Oaks to the west. The city is home to Naval Station Great Lakes, which opened in 1911 and is the Navy's largest training installation and the site of its only boot camp.

Sheridan Road is the city's main corridor, and a short stretch of it holds North Chicago's historic downtown. Rosalind Franklin University is on Green Bay Road, Foss Park Beach gives the city its own piece of the lakefront, and recruit graduations at Great Lakes regularly bring parents to town to watch their sons and daughters finish boot camp.

Draft beer in North Chicago pours at neighborhood taverns, family restaurants, banquet rooms and bars along Sheridan Road and the city's other commercial streets. We set those systems on a cleaning schedule, then take care of whatever else comes up between visits: beer that tastes off or foams, worn faucets and couplers, gas and glycol problems, and new taps.

Common questions

Graduation weeks at Great Lakes bring families into town. How do we avoid running out of gas during a rush?

Check the CO2 supply before the busy days arrive. A full spare cylinder, or a manifold that links several cylinders so an empty one can be changed without stopping service, carries the taps through a long night. If cylinders have been emptying faster than your sales would explain, have the system leak-checked first. CO2 and beverage gas.

Do you cover the area around Naval Station Great Lakes?

Yes. We cover all of North Chicago: the historic downtown stretch of Sheridan Road, the rest of that corridor, the area around Naval Station Great Lakes, and the city's other commercial streets.

A fresh keg tastes sour or buttery on one of our taps. What is going on?

When a new keg tastes wrong on one line but fine on the others, the line or faucet is the usual suspect. Bacteria and wild yeast that grow in residue inside an overdue line can give beer sour or buttery flavors. A thorough cleaning, with the faucet and coupler taken apart, usually clears it. A line that stays flavored afterward may need replacing. Beer line cleaning.
